Hi, thanks for stopping by
You've probably guessed I earn a living by creating all kinds of graphics. Through the years I've conceived, designed and seen through production nearly every conceivable print product - signs, brochures, packaging, advertising, logos, corporate identity and illustration. My specialty is design for print. You are looking at my first web design via Dreamweaver, hope you enjoy!
Thoughts on graphic design
Design is more than presenting information in an attractive manner, good design is all about communication. Like a compelling story, ideas are organized logically, and presented with one idea building upon another. But graphics design also transcends written communication, colors, font choices, shapes and proportions also contribute to the overall story.
All good designer possesses creativity, but an even more important quality is the ability to recognize a good idea. Creativity can be developed through practice, but knowing a good idea when you see it comes with experience. Today's designers must also master modern software, their work must be easily reproduceable — technically perfect. A great designer is adept at all three of these skills.
I enjoy the challenge of discussing my clients creative ideas, finding their purpose and the story they'd like to tell, then presenting creative solutions. I began my art school career as a rather left-brained thinker — the family buiness is engineering — and from there learned to develop my creativity. Consequently, my design style is pragmatic and results driven. I strive to find a creative solution with a practical application.
