About Galaxy Graphics

The idea for my business name took shape in the late 90s, I was picking up freelance assignments and wanted to create a memorable symbol. Recalling the inspiration I felt first time I looked up and saw the Milky Way galaxy, I adopted the name Galaxy Graphics.

Hi, I'm Kathy Lepley

As soon as I could hold a crayon, I enjoyed drawing the world around me. Like most young girls, I adored butterflies and ponies, especially ponies jumping over rainbows. Unlike most young girls, I was fascinated with less appealing creatures like lizards, fish, toads and frogs. My room always had some sort of terrarium hosting some sort of creature. I also had pet birds, I was fascinated with their ability to fly. With these interests my career path was taking shape to be either an artist or a scientist.

As my teen years passed it became obvious that developing my artistic ability was the wisest course. Winning a scholarship to the prestigous Columbus College of Art & Design was an important milepost for me. Since graduating college, my working life has consisted of imagining and visualizing communications products, develop those ideas, and create designs that fulfill a communication goal. I’ve been fortunate that much of my work allows me to express my love of nature and science.

Enjoying the outdoors through camping, hiking or kayaking are some of my favorite activities. I earned my private pilot license because of my interest in how birds fly. I still don’t know how they do it.
